TRANSESTONIA 2020

Since ancient times, Estonia has been an important gateway between the Nordic Countries of Scandinavia, and the East. For far travelled vikings, Estonia was the beginning of the eastern trade route Austrvegr, which crossed with the Silk Route in Persia.

The Belt and Road Initiative is bringing this ancient trade route back on the maps. Modern railway systems with container block trains provide much faster, reliable, and safer regular connections compared to any land- and waterborne transportation solution used in the past.

The 11th international transport conference TRANSESTONIA 2020 is dedicated to development of the North Belt Transport Corridor from China to Sweden. The conference is going to be held on May 13th-14th, 2020 as a web conference.

Main goal of the conference is to discuss and achieve agreements about further transport developments between China and Sweden via Kazakhstan, Russia and Estonia. Working languages of the conference are English and Russian with synchronous translation.
